mom's birthday

We celebrated Mom's birthday on her birthday (August 16th) out at the lake. Words can't explain how much love my family and I have for her! We love you, Grandma!

We got mom four large canvases of the kids, she LOVED them. We got them from Walgreens, and we were VERY impressed with the quality!

Summer for us typically involves helping Bryan move equipment after hours from site to site. You can imagine how much of an 'issue' this is with the boys....

I signed up for a mini session with another amazing photographer in the cities for the same day as my cousin's wedding reception...thinking to myself, Bryan couldn't get TOO mad for a quick family photo session if we were already going to be in the cities that day. Well, he 'lucked out' and wasn't able to come with, but not so lucky as it was because he hurt his back (and even now, six months late posting this, he's still having back issues and more than likely will be having surgery very soon). So, we just took the boys (my mom came along, hence the 'we')

But, enjoy! The talented photographer is Jen of Jen Meneghin Photography. Highly highly recommend! She just moved to a studio in St. Paul, can't wait to return to her!

more pool fun

We made it to a pool a few times this summer, definitely looking to increase our time there next year! The kids love it, and Connor I'm certain will be ready to jump off the diving board by himself next year :)

neighborhood buddy

Our neighbor has three grandchildren that come down from the cities fairly often, often enough to definitely become buddies! Connor and Ben are pretty close in age, we look forward to lots more fun in years to come!

summer nights

A few times this past summer we met my parents out at Westwood restaurant on Lake Washington. The boys love it as they have a little beach there and lots of toys. You can see as the night went on, we kept losing clothes...

Shortly after returning from the Dells, Connor went with the grandparents (all of them!) to tour a new dairy facility. Uber exciting, I tell you (actually, kind of bummed I missed it). And just bonus that the tour included some pretty awesome tractors. And baby ducks. And, they saw a calf being born. I spared you the pictures of that :)

July was busy! Shortly after returning from up north, Krystal, myself, my parents and the two kiddos packed up and drove to Wisconsin Dells (yes, the dads had to got to stay home). Yet again...there was really little to no relaxation (although Krystal and I snuck a massage in!), but loads of fun! Connor gets more and more comfortable each time he's in the water, but he's nothing like the 'fishes' of Ashlyn, Grayson and even Kaelyn.

Kalahari, where we stayed, had a new little kid section within the indoor park, kid-sized lazy river and all! The kids loved it.

Ha. Connor is NOT so sure of this.

Definitely better second time around.
