we're here

Arrived at Children's Hospital and were able to go right into ICU to see Connor. His nurse Crystal was testing his blood glucose via multiple heel sticks. Ouch. Connor seemed comfortable despite multiple tubes and leads all over his little body. His color looked good - jaundice improving - and tummy not so distended. They have a tube in his mouth now with suction to get rid of the extra gas. Glucose IV drip to keep him nourished and hydrated.
Xrays tonight were inconclusive - didn't show where the blockage is. Contrast studies will be done tomorrow - first one as an enema. If that's negative, they'll do an oral contrast study. We should know more tomorrow AM. We can go into the ICU, scrub up to our elbows and see him any time. We are free to touch him and Crystal said we can change diapers, etc. Christy will also pump every 3 hours and store colostrum here - she and Bryan have a sleeping room complete with bathroom and shower. I'll hang out on a couch in the family room when they go to bed.
Will hopefully have more (and better) news in the AM.

Thanks for the update. I hope you're all able to get a little sleep tonight. Connor is in good hands. I have a good feeling about all this. And, remember, I'm the "string" lady! And, I've been right so far! :-)
